Doctor Federico Tasca Gottardo, academic and researcher at the Faculty of Chemistry and Biology at Usach, led the development of a biophoto/anode and a bioreactor based on multicellular algae, to generate electricity and oxygen, allowing the purification and ionization of air.
Innovative technology developed that uses algae to generate electricity and oxygen.
In this edition of Cambio de Switch en Cooperativa, we spoke with doctors Federico Tasca and César Zúñiga about the research being carried out by Usach to investigate the possibility of using macroalgae to generate electricity. In addition, we spoke with the project manager of Fundación Chile, Nicole Maturana, about the work with fishermen through the Sustainable Coves program.
